Summary

ActiveState has introduced a Public Image Catalog, offering secure, minimal container images with low-to-no CVEs. This catalog is designed for development, deployment, and popular open-source applications. It enhances the experience for both current and prospective users, allowing them to easily browse, evaluate, and pull the latest free container images.

What’s in the Catalog?

The Catalog will include a summary of each container, including:

  • Latest published date
  • Image size
  • Image architecture (x86)
  • README
  • CVE count by severity
  • VEX information
  • Pull commands
  • Links to documentation
  • SBOM data
  • Showcase past versions

Component information will be included for each container, including

  • Name
  • Version(s)
  • License(s)
  • Total count of packages in image
  • Security comparison against community version of the image (vuln count, size, SLA)

Image Customization

All images can be customized to meet your needs. Customization may include:

  • Add packages, configurations, or secure language libraries
  • Access specific tags and image variants
  • Meet compliance requirements (FIPS, STIG, and more)
